The trap of doing everything at once
Ben McAdam
One of my new clients came in recently with a big goal.
But she was trying to do everything at once.
I see this a lot. And I get it. As business owners, we want the result now.
But that’s exactly the trap. When you spread yourself across ten priorities, none of them move forward enough to matter.
I’ve fallen into this too. Just last week, I was invited to join a Facebook “promotion pod.” Daily posting, constant sharing, a lot of noise.
It felt tempting. But it would have been a distraction from the things that are moving my business forward now.
For my client, we worked out the few things to work on to hit her goals. Now things are moving in a really good direction, all because she had the clear steps to move forward.
When you find yourself pulled into doing everything at once, ask: what’s the one move that will make the difference?
