Set and forget kills your profits

“Set and forget” kills your profits.

Most businesses are running on decisions set years ago and it’s slowly (or not so slowly) killing their profits.

It could be in your marketing.

For example, you’re doing the same thing with the same budget, but things have changed, you haven’t looked at your numbers… and now every lead costs you more than it used to, dragging down your profits.

Or it could be your sales target.

Let’s say you’ve got clients on a monthly retainer at 95% retention. At 50 clients, you’d lose 2-3 clients a month.

Losing 2-3 clients a month and signing 5 clients a month means you’ll grow, because you’re signing up more than you’re losing.

But at 150 clients, the same retention rate means losing 7 clients per month.

Your old target of signing up 5 new clients per month means you’re actually going backwards.

So if your business has been in “set and forget” mode, it might be time to double check whether things are still working well, for the sake of your profits.
