What’s the point of a cash flow projection?
Ben McAdam
What’s the point of a cash flow projection and what is it?
A cash flow projection is a tool, usually a spreadsheet, that you can use to make a reasonable estimate of what your bank balance is going to look like weeks and months into the future.
So that you can see the cash going in, the cash going out, and “am I going to go broke?” in the future.
You can more confidently make big spending decisions like hiring or marketing investments or pay rises for you or your team.
And you can see what effect those decisions are going to have on your bank balance over the weeks and months into the future.
It’d be pretty helpful to know that you’re not going to go broke if you make a big spending decision, right?
You’d more confidently make a big decision.
A bit more ambitious, a bit more aggressive, a bit more likely to grow and hit your goals.
A cash flow projection is very useful but it’s not for everybody.
So I made a GPT to help you decide.
I helpfully called the GPT: “Do I need a projection?”
It’s going to ask a few questions about your specific situation and your business and then it’ll either suggest a projection and why it might actually help you, or it’ll say “hey, how about you try one of these things instead?”
So if you want access to the GPT, just DM me the word NEED on Instagram @benmcadamig and I’ll shoot you the link.
