Marketing is working. Do I spend more?

“Marketing is working. Do I spend more?” Here’s how to answer that question and how not to.

You could cross your fingers and hope, and spend the money anyway.

Or you could get really pumped up at an event and spend the money anyway. “We’re going to grow! Yeah! Let’s go!”

It’s kind of a gamble.

Or you could check your bank balance and your bookkeeping reports, but those only tell you what happened, not what will happen.

Either way, you could be stressed out from worrying whether it was a good idea or not.

Or maybe it turns out it wasn’t a good idea and your business finances just go down the toilet.

There’s a better way.

It’s to look at a cash flow projection.

It’s a simple spreadsheet that shows what’s going to happen to your bank balance in the next six to twelve months.

My clients Kevin and Jen used a cash flow projection.

Marketing was working and they wanted to ramp up their ad spend and grow their revenue pretty aggressively.

So every time they ramped up their ad spend, they checked the cash flow projection first.

It helped them go from $300k a year to over $4m a year in annual revenue with a 40% plus annual growth rate set to continue into the future.

So is doubling down on marketing going to send you broke?

Just test that idea with your cash flow projection.
